Nina’s picks: Best Ibiza restaurants

Sitting down to eat with friends and family is ones of life’s greatest pleasures. In Ibiza it’s hard to choose from the plentiful and varied dining options. There are just many choices! MedSpa Ibiza founder Nina Peter-Väth often finds herself being asked which restaurants in Ibiza she’d recommend and here she whittles it down to her three favourite places.

El Chiringuito, Es Cavallet

This Ibiza institution is an emporium of delicious food, juices, wines, cocktails and excellent music with a view over the soft white sands of Es Cavallet. “The menu is really diverse, you can go from the best croissants and coffee for breakfast right up to high-end cuisine. They also have amazing vegetarian food,” enthuses Nina. El Chiringuito will always hold a special place in her heart, after holding her son’s baptism in the beautiful venue. “Every time I go there it feels like coming home.”

Locals Only, Plaza del Parque

Tucked into the picturesque plaza under the ancient walls of Dalt Vila, Locals Only is a meeting point for all the assorted characters that inhabit this island. “The setting is really authentic and charming, it’s one of my favourite places in Ibiza because you see all types of people there,” says Nina. With a philosophy of using fresh, local produce – an ethos close to Nina’s heart – it’s open all year round. “It’s so nice there, even just for an aperitivo after work with friends, passing the time doing some people watching and then just accidentally staying on for dinner.”

Las Brisas, Porroig

This is possibly the most romantic dinner setting on the whole island. Situated in a candlelit garden overlooking the pristine bays of Porroig and Es Torrent Las Brisas – the restaurant is set in the grounds of its namesake boutique hotel – is simply stunning. “This corner of the island always gets me,” Nina says. “Everything is exceptional, the service, the ambience and the food of course. The whole experience is just sublime. It’s the perfect escape from the hectic buzz of the rest of the island.”
